The Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC) on April 23, 2025, issued a notification regarding changes in Monograph titles and synonyms in the Indian Pharmacopoeia.
The following has been stated: -
•The Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC) plans to update monograph titles and synonyms in IP 2026, effective from July 2026, covering oral and injectable formulations.
•Manufacturers must assess the impact, update labels, and secure regulatory approvals in advance.
•Early adoption is encouraged, and current and proposed titles can be used interchangeably during the transition. Post-July 2026, all products must fully comply with the new titles.
